If you ask me who I am, I will tell you I am a child of God. Upon hearing the gospel of Jesus’ death and resurrection, I was invited to “try Jesus” and give him control of my life as I had yearned for my lifelong pain of emotional and sexual abuse to end. Jesus revealed himself to me in such a dynamic way at the age of 24 that I wanted to surrender to him wholeheartedly.
Over the years, since September of 1997, the Lord has surely taken me on an adventure. I went to Turning Point Girls Home for 2 years of rehabilitation and Christian discipleship. I attended Tyndale University College and Seminary where I graduated with my Pastoral Bachelor of Religious Education (BRE) degree. I am also pursuing my Masters of Divinity (MDiv) in Counselling. I was married for over 16 years and I am blessed with 3 children.
All of this to say the Lord has burdened my heart for hurting people. I am passionate about Jesus since he has been healing my broken heart and binding up my wounds (Psalm 147:3). I am also passionate about teaching and helping others to live freely in Christ Jesus, experiencing his healing and deliverance, receiving his grace.
The Lord has blessed me with an artistic ability which I find to be very therapeutic. But it is God, his Holy Spirit and his holy Word which I have received in various settings ie. Counselling, Church Service, Prayer and Devotions, Praise and Worship, etc. which has helped to transform my life, give me hope, bring me comfort, help me to endure and persevere.
The Lord Jesus Christ has given me a vision to start my own business named “Kariuki Scripture Art” meaning to resurrect God’s Word in the form of beauty. He has been watering this seed he sowed in me back in 2004, to bring back his Word to his people. He wants me to use my art for his glory to edify, encourage, and minister to others as he does for me.
Prayer is a huge part of my artwork from beginning to end. I pray over each piece of art: inspiration, design, ability, and its recipient. I prayerfully seek God’s guidance for the Scripture he wants for each painting; landscape or portrait.
The Lord has inspired me to design affordable landscapes and portraits with his Word of truth on it to minister to people’s souls. It must be affordable and it must be Scriptural.
